5th Grade Music Class

Here are some of the focus areas for experiences in fifth grade music: 

• interpreting, arranging, improvising, & composing music on xylophones, drums, and recorders
• singing & playing songs and poems in Spanish & English 
• singing in two- and three-part harmony
  
• performing, reading, and writing rhythms with four-16th notes and eighth--two-16ths. 
• performing, reading, & writing melodies with four to seven different notes (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti)
  
• performing on recorders, mallet percussion, drums, guitars, cajons, and congas
• exploring the instrument families of the band and orchestra
